The company was founded to provide the first bureau in the United Kingdom specialising in high volume scanning of newspaper clippings and photographs into electronic format.

Recognising the restrictions of shrink wrap software in managing high volumes of media, Televisual developed The Library Solution, one of the first media independent electronic archiving systems for published material. Asset, its current editorial content workflow software is derived from this software suite, extending its archiving capability to include publishing, ecommerce and syndication facilities.

Televisual’s customers are from a wide range of sectors, including include newspapers, magazines, government departments, universities, museums and sports clubs. All have the requirement to manage and deploy content, usually to both print and the internet.

Televisual provides a unique proving ground for its software as it operates a content management services bureau. In addition to its original scanning services, this bureau provides a range of services in DTP re-purposing and web site hosting, all of which use the Asset software suite. Over 5000 pages of content per day are processed for newspapers, magazines and television companies. Televisual also outsources library management services to newspapers and magazines.

Televisual supports customers worldwide both from its Scottish headquarters and through a network of national distributors who are experts in content management.
